Freeze & Flirt: Unleash your dog's natural instincts in a fun way

Freeze and Flirt is a game designed to unleash your dog's natural instincts in a fun way. In this game we’re asking for a response to movement by herding, stalking and chasing - things your dog loves to do naturally. This game teaches your dog to control their impulses, focus on you, and read your body language - not just your verbal cues.

You’ll need a Whip It Flirt Pole and a smidge of patience to play.

HOW TO PLAY: Start by holding your flirt pole still and ask your dog to sit or wait. Hold a few seconds of stillness… then start flirting!

Drag the lure low and slow to get your dog into chase mode - encourage them to stalk, chase, and strike!

As soon as your dog catches the lure - freeze.

If your dog keeps trying to pounce and tug, that’s okay - just stay still. The moment your dog pauses - even for a second - say ‘get it’ and FLIRT AGAIN.

Move the lure and encourage your dog to chase and play.

Repeat the cycle: flirt, freeze, flirt.

The more you play and practise, the faster your dog will learn their stillness earns the chase.

TOP TIP: If your dog struggles to let go of the toy even when still, hold the lure to prevent movement - and wait. As soon as your dog disengages, start the movement again.

As your dog gets the hang of the game, you can extend the freeze time and build their ability to wait while excited.
